Online Databases and Web Resources 2006-2007
The Department of Libraries & Information Services is pleased to offer a full range of subscription online databases to provide additional resources for students, teachers, and administrators. Online databases are often superior sources of Internet-based information because they are:
- Authoritative
- Relevant
- Accurate
- Often viewable in full-text
- Usually available remotely from home and school
They exponentially expand the school library's resources. For teaching purposes, the reference information can usually be accepted interchangeably with print sources for research projects. Teachers will appreciate the collection of 300+ professional journals accessible in our Thomson Gale family of databases.
Contact your school librarian or the Department of Libraries & Information Services for the 2006-07 database list. Freely copy and distribute the list to all CPS students and teachers. See the chart below for general descriptions of these databases. Grade level indicators are general only. | |
